  1. Elaine says:

The artist: “Using food is not more or less wasteful than using clay, paint or metal.”

    Hmm, interesting…

    • Timmo says:

She claims that using food is considered wasteful because it is impermanent. However she clearly misses the point. Food is a matter of life and death to 75% of the world which is starving. While she makes giant agar agar just to watch it rot, there are billions starving.

Is it part of her art to comment on the impermanence of human life too? That it’s justified to play with food while people starve to death everyday?

      Appalling, truly appalling.

  2. yang^2 says:

“It’s all about the visual representation of food. Food photography has to convey appetite appeal to make people buy and eat it.”

Another hallmark of our aesthetic supreme society! We should demand that food ads reflect the real deal! Cuz otherwise its just plain deceiving when the food served looks miles apart from that in the ad. Ads shouldn’t just be “for illustration” purposes!
